Land Art and Room Installations


This is a selection of my "Land Art" and room installations. Most of them are concerning the topic chess and mainly the action of the chessmen on the chess board in comparison with our everyday life. Chess is like life. Fernando Arrabal said: "Chess is not like life. Chess is life - like the theatre".

Once I observed an open air game of chess in a park with people standig on the black and white squares. This was the impulse of looking behind what there was going on. I compared the situation of the figures, their positions on the chess-board and their strategic actions with our everyday life. I use this symbolism also in my land art and room installations.

Land Art und Rauminstallationen


Dies ist eine Auswahl meiner Land Art und Rauminstallationen. Die meisten sind zum Thema Schachspiel als Spiegelbild unserer Gesellschaft. Schach ist wie das Leben. Fernando Arrabal sagte: "Schach ist nicht wie das Leben. Schach ist das Leben. Genau wie das Theater."


Einmal beobachtete ich ein Freiluftschach im Park. Die Spieler betraten die schwarzen und weißen Felder. Dies gab mir den Impuls für meine Arbeit. Ich verglich die Situation der Figuren, ihre Positionen auf dem Schachbrett und ihre strategischen Aktionen mit unserem täglichen Leben. Ich benutze diese Symbolik auch in meiner Land Art und den Rauminstallationen.
