This is a selection of my land art and room installations during the last 20 years. Most of them are concerning the topic chess, mainly the action of the chessmen on the chess board in comparison with our everyday life. Chess is like life. Fernando Arrabal said: Chess is not like life, chess is life - like the theatre.

Once I observed an open air game of chess in a park with people standig on the black and white squares. This was the impulse of looking behind what there was going on. I compared the situation of the figures, their positions on the chess-board and their strategic action with our everyday life. I use this symbolism in my land art and room installations.
